Beth > My HUC friend Judy and I were on the same El Al flight back to New York. Since we had some time to kill in the aiport, Judy tried on Israeli-chic sunglasses at one of the stores in the posh new terminal.

Beth > The airport music was so good she just had to dance.

Beth > This poor woman standing with Judy has the boring job of sitting in an airport sunglass store. She was quite happy to show us the buggiest sunglasses in the store and to let us take silly photographs.

Beth > Back home at last! For my first meal out back in the US, I was desperately craving Chinese food after 6 months of deprivation, but my mom had just eaten it the night before. We settled on eggplant pizza at Pizza and Brew - they sure don't have that in Jerusalem. Then my mom began the ritual wrapping up of the leftovers.

Beth > Debby and I rang in 2005 at the apartment of Scarsdalien Andy Lupin. We had our own little dance party next to Andy's 6-foot asparagus statue, but Debby had a deep discussion with the asparagus before the dancing commenced.

Beth > Debby and her friend Ariel rock out near the asparagus.
