Passover Seders in small towns south of Kiev.
Our next stop was Zvinagorodka, a much smaller and poorer town than Cherkassy. Amy and I explained to Violetta, the head of the Jewish community there, that we just wanted to eat a quick, simple lunch so that we could spend the little time we had in Zvinigorodka visiting a few of the home-bound members of the community. But Ukrainian hospitality trumped our request - so here we are eating a very slow, fancy lunch. During the meal, Amy and I tried to find out from Violetta what would be happening at the seder that night. We agreed that Violetta and other community members would lead the seder, but that Amy and I would contribute songs and teachings throughout the evening.
