Passover Seders in small towns south of Kiev.
So how did I end up in Ukraine in the first place? For a few years, HUC-JIR has been running a "Pesach Project" sending first-year rabbinical students to the Former Soviet Union to help emerging Reform Jewish communities celebrate Passover. My partner, fellow rabbinical student Amy Rossel, and I traveled to two towns about three hours south of Kiev. Our first stop: the small city of Cherkassy. Here we are with Gala, the head of the community, and the Jewish youth group.
